Hey! I’m Alison. I’m a wife to Chris and mum to Thomas and Harry, who are 14 and 11. We’re a former Defence family so we’ve lived all over but we’re very happy to call Canberra our forever home. I’m a nature-lover so I’m often hiking or out on a run. I’m also a massive introvert so I’m more often at home reading, knitting or cooking.
I’m a postpartum doula. I love supporting new mums to rest, be nourished, and bond with their baby.
I’m also a nutritionist with a Bachelor of Human Nutrition from the University of Canberra. I’ve had my own nutrition practice since 2017, where I specialise in women’s health including postpartum nutrition, gut health, IBS and hormone balancing.
I love combining my two qualifications to provide holistic services for new mums and their families.
As a postpartum doula and nutritionist, I provide in-home postpartum support in a range of ways. I can look after your baby while you rest or shower, I can prepare you some nutritious meals, or I can sit and have a cuppa and a chat. My intention is to give you space to adjust to becoming a mum, and support to bond with your baby.
I’m also a strong believer in planning your postpartum and I do Postpartum Planning Sessions in your home.
I have a separate listing for my nutrition services, which you can find here: https://whatthemama.com.au/listing/feel-good-motherhood/
